October 21, 2025, in Prague— Trezor, the first company to make hardware wallets, has released Trezor Safe 7, a new generation device that comes with a number of industry-leading features. A clear, auditable secure element (TROPIC01) and a quantum-ready architecture that looks to the future are at the heart of its design. The wallet also adds wireless connectivity that works without problems, making it easier to manage your crypto securely from anywhere.
Design that makes things easy to see and use
Safe 7 has a bright color touchscreen, a strong anodized aluminum chassis, and open-source firmware. The device is designed to allow users to keep their own things for a long time without losing style or ease of use. This encourages people to be more open about their security choices.
A secure element that can really be audited
At the center is TROPIC01, which is advertised as the first secure element in the world that is both clear and verifiable. TROPIC01 is different from other secure elements because it has an open architecture that anyone can look at and check. This solves a long-standing problem in crypto security: trusting hardware without being able to see how it works.
Getting ready for a future after quantum
Safe 7 isn’t just about the protections we have now; it’s built with a quantum-ready framework. The device can handle secure updates made for post-quantum environments, which means that wallets will stay safe as the world of cryptography changes. Safe 7 is ready to change when networks move to quantum-resistant algorithms, so they don’t have to buy a new one.
“Security is still the most important part of what we do at Trezor.” Tomáš Sušanka, Trezor’s CTO, said, “With Safe 7, we’re setting a new standard by adding a clear, auditable secure element to a consumer hardware wallet.”
A two-layered defense for self-custody
The transparent TROPIC01 chip and a second NDA-free element with EAL6+ certification are both part of Safe 7’s two-chip security system. This setup keeps private keys safe from the host system, and important actions need to be confirmed on the device’s high-resolution color display, making sure that sensitive actions can’t be done without the user’s knowledge.
“Convenience may push people toward custodianship and centralized services, but true self-custody means keeping control firmly in your hands,” said Matěj Žák, CEO of Trezor.
Wireless design that doesn’t put security at risk
The Safe 7 has Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and magnetic Qi2 wireless charging, which are both modern wireless features. THP (Trezor Host Protocol) is a secure connection protocol that keeps communications encrypted and verified on mobile, desktop, and tablet devices. The device’s design, which includes an aluminum unibody and Gorilla Glass protection, works well with both mobile and desktop workflows.
With the Trezor Suite, users can manage a lot of different assets, trade and stake, and connect to third-party services all from one place.
Availability and launch event
Trezor showed off Safe 7 for the first time at a live event in Prague called “Trustless by Design.” You can find a full recording on Trezor’s YouTube channel.
Durability and usefulness in the real world
Safe 7 is built to last. It has an IP54 rating against dust and splashes, a long-life LiFePO4 battery that lasts four times longer than regular lithium cells, and a lifespan that is four times longer. There is also a Bitcoin-only version for people who want a Bitcoin-focused experience.
Prices and information about preorders
The price of the device is $249 (€249). You can preorder the Charcoal Black and Bitcoin-only versions from the official Trezor store. The Obsidian Green version is coming soon. In about four weeks, shipping will start. A Qi2 wireless charger (free with preorders), a vegan leather case, a universal secure storage case, a privacy screen protector with a 28° viewing angle, and a strong USB-C charging cable are all included.
Trezor and SatoshiLabs are
Trezor is still the most well-known name in Bitcoin hardware wallets. It was founded in 2013 to promote self-custody and open-source hardware. The company has added more products to help users, from beginners to experts, with a focus on teaching people about security and giving them useful tools. Trezor started Academy in 2023 to teach more people about crypto safety. SatoshiLabs is the larger tech group that runs Trezor. They are working on new security solutions for the crypto community.
